nice harmony (Louvin Bros. Tribute)

Like anything, your taste may vary, but I really enjoy James Taylor & Allison Krause singing together on the recently released Louvin Bros tribute album. They cover a Nashville ballad, How's The World Treating You, that I think was written by Felice and Boudleaux Bryant. You can listen to the whole song on-line at this site promoting the album:

At home page click on music and then, depending on your local download speed, choose one of the video options. Only the video (vs. audio file) has the full song.

I love this album. First I bummed it from the library for three weeks. My wife does all the CD buying for our local library. We have one of the best country and bluegrass groupings in the area thanks to her listening to me on what she should get. What's cool is when she tells me others are checking them out, also.

Anyway, after my three weeks were up, I bought the album last Saturday. This is great country music with virtually every duet done tastefully. My wife loves the Krause/Taylor song, while I keep playing the Marty Stuart/Del Mccoury cut. Talk about a hot bass fiddle!

This album is a fine tribute to the Louvin Brothers, and substantiates the art form that classic country music really is.

Oh my, yes! The Louvins were always one of my favorites when I worked in Nashville in 1960 and went to Ryman on Saturday night. Tight, clear harmonies and marvelous words.
