My small smattering of Spanish seems to indicate a pleasant set of lyrics about a "fool" who builds castles in the air. There is a MIDI listed here under the TRADICIONALES heading. If you were playing in C, you'd switch between C and G7 at the ends of every other phrase. By the way, I just now realized that the (D.P.) next to the MIDI titles translate to mean Public Domain. |

There is a Mexican song called "Las Gaviotas," possibly by Gonzalo Hermosa (an arranger?), sung on an album by the Bolivian singer, Zulma Yugar, and sheet music arranged by Ernesto Belloc, available in a collection at Tulane, but nothing else shows up on Google with "Las Gaviotas, cancion." It seems to be a trad. song. |

There's apparently a transcription in a songbook by Chris Bruckner: "Mexico -- Canciones Populares." I found this info on a German site, www.chords-online.de. I know nothing about it or the book and don't read German, so... Flaco Jimenez recorded "Las Gaviotas" on a CD that claims to enclose a lyrics book.
