I have an American pal who goes back to the States in the summer after 2 years of Morris Dancing at Uni here - and wants to carry on in Seattle when she gets back.

So forget all Bill Gates Predjudices and give me if at all possible some info.

Thanks the small american one will be gratefull to you all.

There are loads of morris dancers up there, but I'm out of touch with the west coast morris community so I couldn't say what the organized teams might be these days.

On a hunch, I went to www.seattlemorris.org -- which turns out to be a real address of a team that no longer dances out. If you go to that site, you'll find an e-mail addy of someone who might be able to answer your question more completely.

Well, I've now perused the team photos for the Seattle teams, and assuming those photos reflect current personnel I can give you a couple of contact names to try:

I know a lady named Valerie on Misty City from long ago, and Dave of Sound and Fury used to dance with Berkeley Morris in California, of which I am also a graduate. Both of them are pleasant people (although Dave DOES work for Microsoft), and should your friend contact either of them I am sure they will be happy to make her welcome. Both of them will remember me as Claire, the dulcimer & concertina player from Berkeley.

I'm amazed no Catters thus far have admitted closer ties, but there you are. It could still happen. Good luck!

ClaireBear,

Brilliant is all I can say.

In fact there are now two of them now wish to go back to seattle and carry on! A result is what I call it!! excelent....

The whole crowd have discovered folk and have now not only danced all over London but been to their first two folk festivals ever!!!!

As an aside none over 25 ......

So where are the all the young folk???

However back to the story line any other contacts will be well received.
