04 Mar 04 - 09:00 AM (#1129023) Subject: BS: Another Byrd Bullseye From: GUEST,TIA For all his quirks, every so often (actually rather often), Robert Byrd pretty much sums it all up on various subjects. His latest, on the proposed Bush budget and its sleight of hand is here.... |
04 Mar 04 - 09:11 AM (#1129029) Subject: RE: BS: Another Byrd Bullseye From: Bobert Makes me proud to be a Wes Ginnian..... ...and thanks TIA. I didn't read it word fir word but got the general jist of it and printed it off fir further readings. Bush must go! Bobert |
04 Mar 04 - 05:03 PM (#1129308) Subject: RE: BS: Another Byrd Bullseye From: DougR Yeah, elect Senator Byrd, Bobert! Of course Byrd will bring a bit of baggage with him though, won't he? DougR |
04 Mar 04 - 07:40 PM (#1129431) Subject: RE: BS: Another Byrd Bullseye From: Bobert Well, Dougie, at least Bryd doesn't lie about his past. What you see is what you get. Your guy? Different story..... Bobert |
04 Mar 04 - 07:50 PM (#1129438) Subject: RE: BS: Another Byrd Bullseye From: pdq Using the term bull's "eye" when talking 'bout WesGinny's Senator Byrd??? You are clearly cooking at the wrong end of the bovine. |
04 Mar 04 - 07:51 PM (#1129439) Subject: RE: BS: Another Byrd Bullseye From: katlaughing Thanks, TIA. Good for Byrd! |
04 Mar 04 - 10:01 PM (#1129508) Subject: RE: BS: Another Byrd Bullseye From: Walking Eagle Byrd has his enemies, even in West Virginia. He's been in the Senate for a coons'age. So long that he has nothing to lose. That type of an attitude tends to make one someone who shoots straight from the hip. It also tends to make one a lot less combative and a lot more accepting of other peoples' points of view. Something we could all use a little more of. |
04 Mar 04 - 10:12 PM (#1129512) Subject: RE: BS: Another Byrd Bullseye From: Walking Eagle DougR. Inform us of some of the baggage. We WVA folks know of all of the baggage, but I'm sure that non-WVA folks would like to know. |
05 Mar 04 - 01:15 AM (#1129568) Subject: RE: BS: Another Byrd Bullseye From: DougR Well, the fact that Byrd was a member of the Klan would be a good starter. Since Bobert admits he doesn't try to hide it, that excuses it of course. DougR |
05 Mar 04 - 11:17 AM (#1129805) Subject: RE: BS: Another Byrd Bullseye From: Walking Eagle Please go on... |
05 Mar 04 - 12:42 PM (#1129858) Subject: RE: BS: Another Byrd Bullseye From: DougR Ain't that enough? Seems to me he was some kind of muckity muck in the Klan. 'Nuff said. DougR |
05 Mar 04 - 01:08 PM (#1129874) Subject: RE: BS: Another Byrd Bullseye From: Janie I grew up ashamed of Byrd, and ended up thinking him a great man. HE ACTUALLY CHANGED....and grew into his responsibilities and his times. Janie |
05 Mar 04 - 01:35 PM (#1129898) Subject: RE: BS: Another Byrd Bullseye From: Bobert Like I said, Dougie, my Senator has been honest about his past and has had the courage to grow into a purdy decent man. Some folks call that flip-flopping because they don't have that courage themselves. There's absolutely nuthin' wrong with growing into a better person. I mean, shoot, look at yourselve. Oh sure, yer still a knothead but not as much of the knothead you were a while back. I hope yer wife takes some of the credit but you have made some effort... See, that's why I don't particularly like Bush. He doesn't seem to have like, ahhhhhh, real courage. He will not change for the better because he has some major personality disorders that prevent him from doing so. I'm not saying that to sound mean but that's just the situation. We all really know it. Even folks who support him except they won't admit it. So, yeah, I've had my issues with Byrd over the years but am really enjoying this man stepping up and saying things that would get a lot of Senators whacked by the RNC... Bobert |
05 Mar 04 - 01:45 PM (#1129904) Subject: RE: BS: Another Byrd Bullseye From: Don Firth Doug, haven't you ever looked back on something you did when you were young and thought, "Boy, that was pretty stupid!" You haven't? Wow! One in 6 billion! Don Firth |
05 Mar 04 - 01:49 PM (#1129914) Subject: RE: BS: Another Byrd Bullseye From: Walking Eagle There are lots of otrher things, but I'd like to address them all at once. Please ask more questions. |
05 Mar 04 - 02:01 PM (#1129917) Subject: RE: BS: Another Byrd Bullseye From: DougR Walking Eagle: you talkin' to me? DougR |
05 Mar 04 - 02:41 PM (#1129953) Subject: RE: BS: Another Byrd Bullseye From: katlaughing Would you have preferred that he remained in the KKK, Doug? Stick to his beliefs? Be conservative, as it were? |
05 Mar 04 - 10:40 PM (#1130185) Subject: RE: BS: Another Byrd Bullseye From: Walking Eagle Yep Doug, I am. He's shown a few other character flaws over the years that us WVA folks know about, so I was just looking for a little direction via more questions as to what you'd like addressed. I'm not asking to be mean or anything. I'm not going to attack you like some other folks here have done. |
05 Mar 04 - 11:12 PM (#1130191) Subject: RE: BS: Another Byrd Bullseye From: LadyJean I've said it before and I'll say it again, Byrd is the word! According to my friend from Charleston, he plays a wicked bluegrass fiddle too. |
06 Mar 04 - 08:51 AM (#1130321) Subject: RE: BS: Another Byrd Bullseye From: Bobert Yeah, and if there's one thing that Bush has earned it is the Bryd. Actually more like 30 million to go with this one... Yo, Walking Eagle. You still live in Wes Ginny? Bobert |
06 Mar 04 - 08:52 AM (#1130325) Subject: RE: BS: Another Byrd Bullseye From: Greg F. There ya go again (as Ronnie RayGun was wont to say) using the words "thought" and "Doug" in the same sentance. |
06 Mar 04 - 05:15 PM (#1130541) Subject: RE: BS: Another Byrd Bullseye From: Hollowfox (Just to keep it musical) I thought he was more of a traditional mountain style fiddler. The American Folklife Center in the Library of Congress recorded his playing over a series of sessions back around 1976 or so. |
