I trust that you will already be familiar with these guys. If not you have a treat in store. Many of the current "old timey" musicians were influenced by these guys. |

Reading the lyrics you posted helped me to figure out what Tommy Jarrell was singing - on the American Folk Collection CD called Classic Old Time Music he sings them in this order: I'm going to western country now... Sixteen horses in my team... Hitch the Logan in the lead... How you make your living now... The verse reads: Hitch old Logan in the front and Susan in behind him I’m going down that rocky road to see that gal of mine. Logan and Susan are mules that you hitch to a cart. In the Roundpeak version of this tune, they say “Morgan” instead of “Logan” Hope this helps! |
