Bob Copper's memorial

I hope you Mudcatters will allow us the following "Parish Notice"

The Copper Family would like to thank everyone who attended Bob's memorial last Saturday. It was a marvellous event which further reinforced the great feelings of love and respect in which Bob was held. It was also an enormous source of strength to the family. People made such great personal sacrifices in order to be there - it was humbling. Messages of condolence have poured in by email and post from all over the world for which we thank you all. Believe me, to know that so many were thinking of us and sharing our sense of loss, has given us great strength.

Thank you so much for sharing this, Jon. It sounds like a lovely tribute to a lovely man.

We were certainly there in spirit, Jon. A pint and a song were raised to Bob.

Best to all,

Dave & Pam, Doug, Tom

I sang 'The Last Fisherman' as part of my concert spot at Miskin Festival as a tribute to Bob and dedicated it to him. Everyone sang it beautifully. Thanks Bob.

Bob Copper's memorial service was very special - full of songs, stories, revelations, laughter and displayed so many facets of the man. In fact, it was chock full of magic moments - just like the man himself.
Our thanks, in turn, go to John and Jill, Jon and all of the family for allowing us to share such precious memories.

There are photographs of the procession and service on Tim Kent's website which can be accessed through :-

I have heard already, here in the middle of the USA, that as the procession went past Bob's favorite pub the place emptied out and everyone toasted his ashes.

Is that a correct retelling of it? I do hope so.
