19 May 04 - 05:18 PM (#1188809) Subject: RE: BS: Tony Blair Powdered From: Richard Bridge A very restrained response by campaigners to politicians who smugly sit on their tockusses and blank demands for reform of a major injustice. Where is Guy Fawkes when you need him? |

19 May 04 - 06:12 PM (#1188883) Subject: RE: BS: Tony Blair Powdered From: vectis It's madness. They sealed the public galleries to protect Parliament and then auction a ticket in front of the glass to the highest bidder. It would have served them right if he'd been a terrorist and had murdered the lot of them instead of a father fighting for justice. |
19 May 04 - 06:18 PM (#1188890) Subject: RE: BS: Tony Blair Powdered From: Jim McCallan The people were there at Baroness Golding's invitation...., and she is 'deeply distressed' at this. Another thing was, was that the politicians immediately evacuated the chamber. I they had have been contaminated, the first thing they should have done as stayed exactly where they were. It didn't enter anybody's head that they should do this And that is an even bigger security breach, in my opinion. Jim |

Do you think anyone could get that close to Bush?" No, I think that over in the US they take the personal security of their head of state a bit more seriously. As for your "Hooray!!!!!!" and the implied desire to see a similar incident involving GWB - You would probably be the loudest in the cries of outrage and indignation, when the poor fool who attempted such a thing gets shot. Agree totally with what Jim McCallan had to say regarding response. Simple fact of the matter is that in this day and age such an act of "protest" should not be possible in the House of Commons. |
