Four Fools Folk Festival - or as it is known this year Chorley Folk Festival organised by the Four Fools - is taking place next weekend 25/26/27 June.
Hopefully the usual gang of Mudcatters will be there and maybe some newcomers to the event.
More information on the website HERE
See you there

Cheers
Mark

I'm hoping we can make it. A great festival. Small and friendly.

Sue and I will be there with Shellbacks.

Also hope to catch Pauline Cato & Tom McConville, plus Kevin & Ellen Mitchell.

Really enjoyed the ballad session last year.

Have you got something else to go to Foolestroupe?

I'll certainly be there with "the band formerly known as Bill Whaley" and looking forward to seeing lots of old friends there. With several of my own personal favourite artists booked I'm hoping for a great weekend.

I shall be attending Chorley and, hopefully, I shall be able to sing, which I wasn't able to do at Alcester last weekend because of a throat infectio/cold. All together now: "Ahhh! Poor Alan!"
"Sing John Ball ..!"

Got to run my first Ceilidh at Market Rasen Folk Club on Friday night, and then family committments during the rest of the weekend.

I'll be there, but unfortunately won't have a lot of time for listening to music. On Sat I'll be dancing with the Southport Swords & on Sat night I'll be with Lamb & Flag on a rapper tour & dancing again with them on Sun.
Phew!

Dave,

The URL was re-directed to

After a request from Angie last night, I've attempted to put the working programmes on the site under the Friday Saturday Sunday links on the front page but unfortunately some gremlin in the system is causing the uploaded jpg scan to corrupt somehow. The scans themsleves are fine - it's when I upload the files to the site that the problem occurs. Not sure what the problem is, file sizes are about 75k which I wouldn't call excessive. If I do them too small nobody will read them. Anybody else had this problem with uploading picture files and how do you solve it? The original was an Excel file but I only had a print out to play with.

I won't have time tonight to fix it and we'll all be at the festival anyway on Friday so I'm afraid if you want to know the schedule come along and pick one up from the desk.

Cheers
Mark

The schedules should be readable now. I've loaded the jpgs onto another site and linked to them from there.

See you later, Thanks for the programme files Mark, they print fine so long as you remember to change paper size to landscape.

We had a great time. Although it is a tad expensive, the line up is good and the event is very well organised. (Angie - do you ever manage to get away from the door?)

Very friendly festival, easy to get around - even for an aged cripple like me!

Looking forward to the next one already.

Does anything happen in Chorley on Thursday nights? I'll be there for a conference next week and would love the chance to escape!

I had a really enjoyable festival, even if I did cause a few raised eyebrows, returning late on Saturday night in my Victorian style costume, from a performance of Arthur Sullivan's The Zoo, that I had been involved in at Gilpin Bridge (Cumbria) Just caught the bar before it closed!

Many thanks to Angie and helpers for a fantastic festival.

I was sorry to hear about Kevin & Ellen Mitchel's bereavement, and also Heather Hayward's other commitments but was very happy that you were able to enlist the services of Martin Carthy and Brian Peters.

Highlights for me were Tom McConville & Pauline Cato, Carthy, Martin Wyndham-Read and Donal MacGuire.

It was lovely to see so many local faces: "th'Antiques Roadshow", Sid and Threlfalls plus Martin Ellison & Roger Edwards, etc.

Zany Mouse

I wonder if Angie plugs herself into a life support system for the weekend - mind you I think Martin Carthy had a spell of giving out tickets and taking money for a while!

Thanks to everyone who came to see the Harry Boardman concert of mine on the Saturday and the Lancashire Garland presentation of "An Afternoon with Edwin Waugh" that Sid Calderbank and myself did on the Sunday - mind you it did say in the programme "An Afternoon with EVELYN Waugh" so maybe we should have read Brideshead Revisited out to you instead of Lancashire dialect songs and stories!

See you all next year

Cheers
Mark
