BS: Bush's Records Turn Up

Is it just me or is the coincidence of the way Bush's records suddenly appear at opportune times something to rival the Celestine Prophecy? Now you know Osama will suddenly make himself available for capture or death just before the elections.Amazing coinincidence!

So? There's nothing new there.

what I find interesting is that there is still no sign of the disciplinary documentation for Georgie's absence from duty and his failure to take his final National Guard medical exams. The powers that be are only dribbling information out and they are keeping the real juicy stuff under lock and key.

Ya know, as I said to my brother just last night on this subject, the only reason I'd like to be President (apart from the retirement benefits) is so that I could declassify all sorts of stuff.

We only recieve the amount of propaganda necessary to keep us under control. Under the current administration there is less and less information and more and more control, all the more reason to vote it out if that is still possible.

I can't believe that so many people accept even what we were earlier told of his records as "exemplary" and fitting for a "war president." Sometimes the American people can demonstrate such compassion and good sense. But sometimes they can demonstrate such ignorance and obliviousness that it makes me want to scream.

History, if it continues to exist in a non-1984 kind of way, will undoubtedly record him as the worst president of all times, without peer.

As I think I said in one of the (many) previous threads on this topic, the most common disciplinary action that the Reserves and Guard took at that period in time for missing drills (and I think the trigger was three in a row) was for the individual to be "red-lined". That basically meant removed from regular scheduled duty and, if an active duty obligation existed, maybe being transferred to the active component. Since Dubya's only military skill was flying an obsolute aircraft, and the Vietnam war was beginning to wind down, it would appear unlikely to me that the Air Force would have wanted him.

As I also think I said in a previous thread on this topic, my personal opinion is that he has done quite enough to answer for in the past 3 1/2 years, without dredging up non-events of 32 years ago.

Is it fair to refer to the Shrub a Rosemary's Baby (for those who recall Watergate)

Kat:

The thread above errors out in some browsers because it gets translated as "http://localhost/thread.cfm?threadid=71866&messages=3", which is invalid. I would suggest you include the full URL when making links even though they are local to the Cat itself, just for global usefulness.

Not quite correct, I think, Amos. Generally, we prefer abbreviated links when they are internal to Mudcat.
Kat's mistake was that she used http:// on an internal link.
    She should have done this:
      <a href="/thread.cfm?threadid=71866">HERE</a>

Err- you mean "Bush's non-records STILL don't turn up", don't you?

Material just released doesn't account for his 'lost time'.

Dunno, there's some strong competition from the past....

What I want to know is - when will Bush's records be rereleased on CD?

I think Greg F's point is well taken. There is actually something "new" in these revelations, i.e. further evidence that he did not show up in Alabama in the summer of 72

Kendall-

"A leopard can not change his spots"

True, but when I think of Cheney and his gang of henchmen I harken back to Walt Kelly's Pogo (or was it Owl?) who observed:

"When you starve with a tiger, the tiger starves last."

Joe:

If the internal link will work (for any browser) when written as you describe, that's certainly fine with me! I only have the one requirement -- the link should work.
