Just a reminder for those who may be at a loose end in the S.Wales area sometime this week. The Welsh National Eisteddfod starts today at Tredegar House on the outskirts of Newport (2 mins from J28 of the M4)

What's the difference between the Welsh National Eistedfod and a Greek Yoghurt?

Greek yoghurt is based on a living culture!

I've just spent the day there. Lovely field, lots of interesting stuff. Quite a variety of European dance troupes for some reason - very colourful. Anyone going should call in to 'my' place - 816/817 to say hello. There'll be biscuits early in the week (as long as they last) but I don't know about tea - seems to be a problem finding anywhere to get water for the kettle!

We have a Noson Lawen on Wed. night at the Lyceum, tickets £3.00. Trying to get back to the 'old' tradition of a noson lawen, that is - not a concert, more like a Welsh trad. session. We had one at last year's Eisteddfod and it was great. All welcome.

Will there be any BBC radio broadcasts of folk music? I see that Radio Cymru is covering some of the events.

IT'S very hot here no sight of rain yet.You get out of the Eisteddfod what you want too and what you would enjoy to see.

Quite right, Scooby. Great weather, tons to see just walking around the field, dozens of new CDs and stuff. Some very tempting little lap harps...

And a lot of hysterically funny poems. My favourite was about colonic irrigation. Or possibly the one comparing the 24 metres of Welsh poetry to condoms. I've still got a stitch in my side.

Great to see Nigel at the Noson Lawen!
