BS: Literal challenge.

On the "A new for of crop circles" thread. I composed a short piece of literature which is sort of in keeping with the thread and inspired by the picture in the original post.
There have been several literal gems on the Cat lately, particularly from Don Firth, which have not gone unnoticed.
The challenge is to ...compose a short literal gem on any thread, as you are inspired...without ruining the flow of the thread of course...
and to prompt us to view it by identifying it on this thread.
Just thought it might be a bit of fun. Mine is not particularly good but yours??? lets see.
Best wishes.

Both of you queers have alot to learn about writing. Go back to writing shit on the bathroom walls. I'm sure it would be alot better than this crap.

GS:

First, clear up the meanings of "literate", "literal" and "literary".

A literal gem would be -- for example -- a ruby.

A more literate challenge would call for a literary gem, although usually this is an expression offered by an admiring audience, not the author.

Thank you so much Amos for your correction. Now perhaps you would like to meet the challenge.
Best wishes.

Anybody care to guess who GUEST,TTCM is? I think I recognize the literary style.

Hey, me and Al Gore invented the "short literal gem", GS, right after we invented the internet. That's our story and we're stickin' to it until the Florida recount has been completed. Right, Al?

Al: Right, Bobert.

See what I told ya'?

GS,

I'd love to help but I don't understand what the challenge is.

Can it be described more clearly?

I think he is talking about creating a short piece of fiction based on whatever topic the thread is currently undergoing - and posting it in the thread to which it is apropos.

I think.

see the "new type of crop circle" thread for an example.

Maybe he means a "littoral challenge".

The book was just below the high tide mark. Called a "literary gem" by the New York Times reviewer, now with the weight of the saphire, removed from its side, and before it was removed, it was latterly literally, laterally lighter, littoral literary litter.

I can see now that MY gem needs a little polishing.

The book was just below the high tide mark. Called a "literary gem" by the New York Times reviewer, now with the weight of the saphire, the literal gem, removed from its side, an now that it has been picked up by Trash Control, it is latterly littoral literally, laterally lighter, literary litter.
