The song was written by Charlie McGettigan from Co Leitrim in Ireland, who among other achievements was a member of an excellent group called Jargon based in the Sligo/Letrim area, and won the Eurovision Song Contest as a duet with Paul Harrington singing The Rock & Roll Kids.

I don't know if he has a web-site but its probably worth checking. The song has been recorded by a number of others including Maura O Connell and probably Eleanor Shanley.

FEET OF A DANCER
(Charlie McGettigan) As recorded by Maura O'Connell on "Just in Time," 1988.

SHORT CHORUS: I hope you find the feet of a dancer. I hope you can sing in the rain.
I hope you find all the easy answers to your pain.

It won't be easy, but what can I say?
There will be trouble on the way,
And around every corner, there'll be terror and tears,
But always remember that we're here. CHORUS

CHORUS: And I hope you find the feet of a dancer. I hope you can sing in the rain.
I hope you find all the easy answers to your pain.
And I hope you find love and affection, I hope you find someone who'll care.
I hope you find all the right direction everywhere, everywhere.

A shoulder to cry on, whenever you're low.
You know you can rely on us, you know.
'Cause there's nothin' too crazy, and there's nothin' too dear,
But always remember that we're here. CHORUS

BRIDGE: Even when the rain comes fallin' down,
You know it's fallin' down on you.

CHORUS
Everywhere.
Always remember that we're here.
Feet of a dancer.
Feet of a dancer. [REPEAT AND FADE]

another case of a guest who does not look in the D.T. before posting a
lyric request....PLEASE people, learn to look FIRST, just like the note says every time you write a new message, there is a reminder there to check first..is it because you don't know to look, or don't bother to?

and oh by the way, welcome, guest clint
and I am glad you found that song..it IS a good one!!
...but the song isn't IN the Digital Tradition...it was posted in the Forum, however. -Joe Offer, Moderator-

Chords or music would be great - my mum wants to use this song at my wedding but I need to get the music so the band we have can play it. Any help would be great.

Here's Charlie McGettigan singing "Feet of a Dancer":

It's a small point, but please take note: I believe both Maura O'Connell and Charlie McGettigan sing "someone who'll care" not "somone who cares."

"Care" makes a better rhyme with "everywhere."
