Towersey Village Festival starts on Thursday and I was just wondering who was going this year?? Micca and I will be there as usual and this year Freda Underhill will be coming with us. You will more than likely find us in the singaround in the Barn.

Linda & I should be around in some of the pub/barn sessions, although we don't have tickets and will be on a campsite nearer Oxford.

Apparently there are still a few tickets left: this from the newsletter issued today, 20th Aug

Full Weekend Season tickets are still available and if you are thinking of
camping we still have space on all three sites but Site 1 is filling up
fast. Day Season tickets (for Sat, Sun or Mon) are selling better than ever
and if you buy 9 tickets of any one type you get another 1 FREE, so get your
friends and family together and join us in Towersey, Nr Thame, Oxon for an
August Bank Holiday weekend full of concerts, ceilidhs, workshops, arena
shows, children's festival and loads more.

Visit www.towerseyfestival.com for a full artist list and details of
booking.

although I can't guarantee it's accuracy.

I'm going to be there, stewarding as usual and fighting off a sore throat somewhere in the barn - surely an excercise in the futile.

I'm going. I steward at the kids festival but I'll be around as much as possible, especially anything involving singing, or dancing. I'll probably be clutching a big, green, furry haggis and looking bemused and lost, I've been doing somthing similar for the past 12 years after all.

Pixie and I will be there, also looking bemused but clutching tankards which would explain it.

A green furry haggis? Surely you know they are out of season by the end of July?

Or is it a real haggis that you've just had for a very long time.....

I've got some nice pills which will make it go away if you like.....

SussexCarole and I will be there Saturday only - non-ticket but in the barn. It's Carole's last day as an inhabitant of England, before I carry her off to my Welsh hillside! Hope to see many 'Catters while we're there.

See you soon,
Andrew

Oh, is it no ticket in the barn? That's was where I spent most of my time when I was last at Towersey. I wonder if I can escape for a day and get there and have a sing...? Can't afford tickets or to camp but if I can get there....

Love Lynne

Curses - for the first time in years I won't be there. I'll have withdrawal symptoms all weekend thinking of you lot in the barn, but there's too much work to do on the wreck out here in west Wales and the piggy bank's looking anorexic.

Is there a singaround in the barn on Fiday night?

I can never remember.

Not an organised sing a round no, but we usually burst into song in the pub, whether people like it or not,LOL.

Be lovely to see you Lynne, if you can make it ( should we organise an escape commitee?).

Sorry you won't be there Gervase, perhaps we should all feel guilty that we aren't there with you, wielding spades and other manly artisan type devices......but I'll settle for raising a tankard in honour of the project, if that's okay?

Am really hoping to get along (not been before) on the Monday after the weekend at Bridgenorth - I expect it would bew a criminal offence to pass by on the way home. See you all in the Barn!!!

Am wondering where to put the caravan till I can resume my journey towards work on Tuesday....

The thread Towersea Bridgenorth has been closed.I wonder why? I go to Bridgenorth now, more friendly atmosphere and more folkie stewards than security. However the Barn Sings at The Three Horseshoes are one of the best and not to be missed.

You could consider putting the caravan in the main car park field.

My caravan's in the university car park, so I'll be off straight from work, picking up Linda at Northolt. We'll be on a CL caravan site east of Oxford, a bit of a drive away, but should be at the pub/barn tonight.

This weather doesn't look too good for anyone in a tent, and if the main camp site gets very muddy, it could also be a problem for caravans as well.

Many of you are probably already en route, but for those that aren't have a great time and sing one for me! That barn's going to get pretty sweaty and humid over the next few days - so don't get trench foot or anything nasty.
And, if you're camping, good luck with those Chiltern winds. I'll keep an eye peeled here at the edge of the Irish Sea for odd shreds of gazebo heading westwards!

Well who made it back then? I did, my Towersey Tan is coming off in about 20 mins when the bath is ready (Towersey tan = mud - there was quite a bit of it but not as much as there could have been!)

It was a jolly weekend and it was great to meed a few new mudcatters. Sorry if I was a bit spaced out - it was a fraught week last week!
