Songs about the Mudcat

I thought it would be fun to have all songs about the Mudcat experience on one thread, so here goes:

For a while Friday and Saturday morning, although I'd get the DNS message when I clicked on the basic URL, I could get through by clicking on my bookmark on the Songwriting thread, but even that went dead early yesterday afternoon. Last night I felt compelled to write another song, this one for those not interested in the blues:

Missing the Mudcat on the Banks of the Ohio

I met my Baby on a thread;
Our souls are one, that's what she said.
She said she'd always be with me,
But the Mudcat's down--where can she be?

(Cho.)
Max, only say you'll bring 'em back:
Without the threads, what good's my Mac?
Each time a weekend rolls around,
I'm all alone, cause the threads are down.

We always met, my Baby and me,
At the topmost thread just after three.
We'd play thread-tag 'til time for bed,
But not tonight, 'cause the threads are dead.

It's Saturday night, and I'm alone,
All I can do is weep and moan,
All I can do is cry them blues,
My Baby's gone, nuthin' left to lose.

Gee, I've missed you, Gargoyle! You make me realize how much I love the rest of the Mudcat membership. --seed

Gargoyle, forgive me that posting. It was a bit more petty than I usually try to be. I would like to point out, however, that my entry at the top of this list is not and was never intended to be a blues. It wasn't even a playful imitation blues like the one below, which I posted after the first big meltdown. Again I apologize for leaving your name out. Aw, the hell with it. I take back that apology. --seed

No need to apologize, far as I can see, seed. Thought you hit it on the mark.

All the best,

Mick

Joe, did you remove Missing the Mudcat Blues from my post above? Couldn't you have at least given me a link to it there? My post doesn't make sense without it. --seed

Thanks, Mick. Sorry I missed your message before: I read mine, saw the Blues was missing, and clicked on Post to this thread. I greatly appreciate your understanding my message.

Joe edited me once before, after I had gone to all the work of formatting Murray's long set of lyrics to "The Flowers of Edinburg." He had been formatting them at the same time as I, but with his editing ability, he was doing it right on Murray's posting, so after he posted, he saw mine, figured it was redundant, and took it out, leaving my explanation of how I had formatted it hanging (but with a link back to his lyrics). --seed
