No kidding. If there ever was an argument for a pre-emptive strike, this is it...

Shatner to release new album

...according to the CBC, who got it from the New York Post...please let this be some holiday prank....

No doubt the DVD will include Bill Shatner's Dream Sequence Stepdancing Lessons

And Shatner and Nimoy are about to appear together in Priceline commercials!

Maybe you (and definitely Little Hawk) should check out this test first.

This is good. MOre than good! This is incredibly cool!!! It is also incredibly, awesomely excellent and cool that they are advertising ape shirts on the "Should I Stalk William Shatner Test" site, because it ties in with the Chongo Chimp story which is a hot item I am working on at this very moment. There is clearly a mystical connection between worshipping Shatner and really digging chimps in a big way. I'm not sure how it works, but it does.

One thing I can promise. Musical history will be made by the new Shatner album. As always.

This lunchtime, I was driving my car and listening to the excellent BBC World Service "White Label" music programme which reviews new releases. One of the records promised was the new Shatner single. Unfortunately, I reached my destination before it came on and I didn't hear it. Has anyone heard it/got any views?

Dunno about the single, but there was a short piece on Cap'n Kirk's new album in last Friday's Guardian (review section) which pronounced it unclassifiable (!!!) - presumably not musical life as we know it, Jim! methought I just had to hear it, but haven't yet managed to track a copy down. Apparently it's on the Columbia/Sony label....
good luck...

As usual, Shatner has boldly gone where no one has gone before in terms of expressing nuance and meaning through creative art, thus encapsulating the perplexing gestalt of postmodern society in the 21st century in a way that rings a stunning chord of synchronicity with the listener and transports the mind into formerly ungrasped realms of teleological awareness...to a point that can only be described as: revelatory. If you buy only one CD this year, buy Shatner's.

It is superb. Man is a hero of out time.

Joe Jackson sings the chorus though.

Here's a sound file of Common People. Unclassifable? That's about right.

Heard him do an advert on Classic FM the other day, but was so stunned when he said who he was that I forgot what the advert was for....

Do you suppose William Shatner hopes nobody notices that he's wearing a rug on his head?

No it shouldn't! It's about a music CD. Besides, Shatner transcends all genre definitions, moving seamlessly into what can only be termed a Unified Field or "the One".

The advert was probably for All Bran.... he's been doing a series of them where he lives with a family whilst they try a bowl a day for 2 weeks. The last one was today, where he presents them with a great truck load of the stuff...

It works really well.... I'd want to spend most of my time locked in the toilet if I had William Shatner bouncing round my house!

The single is truly appalling, on the lines of Telly Savalas doing 'If a picture paints a thousand words'.....

Lucky it's been released too early to be a Christmas No.1 then you'd have to put up with it over the Festering Season.

omigod! There are 10 (count 'em 10) Shatner threads in a row (or a column I guess you'd have to call it).

What is the Cat coming to?
