Anyone have the lyrics to the above song? I can't even remember who recorded it! Thanks so much

Grace

As we gathered in the chapel here, in old Kilmainham Jail
I think about these last few weeks, oh will they say we've failed
From our school days they have taught us, we must yearn for liberty
But all I want in this dark place is to have you here with me

Oh Grace just hold me in your arms and let this moment linger
They take me out at dawn and I will die
With all my love I'll place this wedding ring upon your finger
There won't be time to share our love, for we must say good-bye

Though I know it's hard for you my love, to ever understand,
The love I feel for this great man, my love for this dear land,
But when Padraig called me to his side down at the GPO,
I had to leave my own sick bed, to him I had to go

Now as the dawn is breaking, my heart is breaking to,
On this May morn, as I walk out my thoughts will be of you,
And I'll write some words upon the wall so everyone will know,
I loved so much, that I could see His blood upon the Rose

If you type Grace into the filter and go back 365 days you'll find more.Regards Mick Bracken

"Grace" has been recorded by a number of Irish singers. Lots of Los Vegas Irish acts like Tommy Boyle and Andy Cooney. Brendon Grace does a great job of it but by far the best is by Paddy Reilly.

Nothinbg scarry in the chords but one or two seem a little out of place. Nice song to sing with other voices on the chorus but be aware that the range is deceptive.

" Grace, just hold me in your arms and let this moment linger, They take me out at dawn and i will die."

This passage can be hard to pace vocally. "They take.....Die" in particular.
