Hope to get along to hear Mick & meet Zany again. Was hoping to get away for a week's cheap deal to somewhere sunny, but that might not be an option now.

Anyone within striking distance should go along to hear Mick, you'll hear a rare treat!!

MCP's a phenomenon. Enjoy, you lucky people!

PS - He can borrow one of my capos, seeing as he obviously can't afford to buy one! (ROFL!)

SJ - I did try a couple of capos once, but they only made me half an inch taller and they fell off the bottom of my sandals when I moved about the stage.

at your age?

He'll be in good company here in St Albans then.

Mick was a major contributor to our club from its start in 2000 as a £1 singaround.
he would attend every week ,until we all knew his repertoire.

then we sent him North

Thanks to Mick, I now do mean versions of 'Joshua gone Barbados' 'Anderson's Coat' and 'Too Far From She' which since I've heard Ian Bruce perform it sounds nothing like Mick's version,- but nice adition of a minor chord and run - then there's Grae miles''s'Eldorado' to mention 4

that's why he's been having to learn some new stuff lately!!

He was one of our early guests in October 2001.

Its good to be able to reward his early loyalty with 2 gigs this week-end.

he is also great to have adding a 2nd guitar behind some of my songs, shame its a tackyandslime model but then, nobody's perfect. Dont go there.

Have a good w/end one and all.

Yeah and so do us Takamaineies (just popped off to get the spelling right) And where are "The Folkaholicks" gigs for all the loyalty at The Bull in Redbourn singarounds? Back in 2000.

Breezy - I'll be setting out for the M1 in 15 minutes, hoping I can hitch down without trouble. I've painted the guitar case to look like a giant thumb, so I'm quite hopeful. If I'm not there by 10 you might fill in for a bit until I arrive.

I know I'm rather biased but I thought Mick did a sterling job on Friday. The standard of the floor singers was amazing.

Don't forget the second leg of his St Albans Tour tomorrow evening.

Many thanks for a brilliant set Mick - and thanks for the pint - hope you got home without getting lost in Harpenden

Nice to see you both again - you were such an inspiration to the sessions at the Bull in Barton - it's hard to thank you enough for that

Sorry, we didn't get a chance to talk a great deal - the music tends to be thick and fast at the spotlight - maybe our paths will cross again soon

Good luck with the puppy

Sorry I didn't make it last night, sounds as though it was a great night! Hope Breezy explained my absence, or on second thoughts may be I don't, as he probably invented some cock and bull story rater than the legitimate reason I gave him.

Hope Breezy plugged my gig next Sunday. I've got some new (for me) songs, as well as some of the favourites, for you.

Once again, great stuff MCP. Hope to catch you again soon.

I can't remember JB explaining your absence ref - but I was a bit late

I knew there was something missing - it was only on re-reading this thread that I remembered you were the MC

JB did you give you a good plug for next week - said you were going to do some fire eating and cow juggling

Thanks all for that. I did enjoy both nights and managed to miss Harpenden on the way home (I found the 2nd r/b at Redbourne and see where I went wrong now! I was home by one, though it was nearly four when I got to bed for five lovely hours of sleep before going off for 4 hours of rehearsal for a classical guitar concert). Thank Chris Flegg for playing on the duet with me (and for his CDs) and a special thanks to my old friends from Herga for coming out to see me on Friday.

breezy may be a relentless thread hijacker but his enthusiasm for the music and its promotion is enormous. Thanks john (or as you would say:

had gt nt in snorbans

where was XJ?

did you enjoy the jelly bath and can I have my songs back

I bumped into Martin Carthy in the toilet and he was asking about you ("has he gone yet?" I believe were his exact words)

See MCP Chesterfield Sat 11:45, the seats are already out

Thanks again

Mick
