Candace, Welcome to the Mudcat. The song you seek is in the Digital Tradition Database. This is a repository of thousands of "folk" songs.

I went to the upper right hand corner where there is a blue space titled Search the DigiTrad Database. I typed in [red haired mary]. The brackets make the search engine look only for that phrase. If you are adventurous, you could try it yourself. If you are as lazy as I you will just click here to go to the results of my search.

Thanks for visiting the Mudcat. You are welcome to linger around and wander through other threads. There are some very kindly and knowledgeable people here. We are not always this fast in answering your requests, but we do our best.

Enjoy the song!

Candace, welcome. Any more questions now that we are all right here?

Roger, Your post is so much more nurturing than mine. Complete with many social niceties (as they say around here "O, For Nice!") and gentle instructions for novices. Some, (who? I don't know, but surely not I) could even call it condescending ;) Indeed I think it is a lovely composition, but I'm sure you know that length isn't everything. happy day.

Thanks, gentlemen (and lady!). I don't get here often, but I have been here before. I had searched in the DT but it hadn't appeared for some reason.

Length may not be everything, but coupled with sincerity it's hard to beat.
