I believe that this song was included on a Dubliners record, most probably Luke Kelly some years ago. Rua now do a version, but I am, trying to find on which of the Dubliners albums this was included, perhapse a concert. A friend had a copy but it was damaged and was thrown away, unfortunatly he has forgotton the title (old age I believe)
Any Help please, Dennis

They recorded 'Jail of Cluan Meala' (according to the sleeve) on 'Plain and Simple' (1973).

And thanks for both question and answer - I'll have to look out for that Luke Kelly CD!

two threads that deal with this song are
PrĂosĂșin ... and Jail...

Liam Clancy also recorded the English language lyrics on a solo album
(issued by Vanguard in the 1960s, but probably reissued on CD by now)

It ia also on the Dubliners LP ' The Town I loved So Well ' from 1973.

By the way the album "The Best of Luke Kelly" has been out for some weeks. You might have to get your copy from an Irish source.
