Hal came from the USA but he played a lot around Maritime Canada in the 60's and 70's. I met him in Summerside in 1970. I bought an Lp from him that I still have with this song on it. He can be heard singing this one and several others on "The Record Lady". George, the #'s are for the chord changes. Sandy |

Guessed they might have to do with chords, but as I don't play an instrument, I wasn't sure what they meant. So, if it's a different key, it's all different then? |

The othger #'s are the chord progression and they would count the same as notes on an 8 note scale. If you are playing in "C" your scale would be CDEFGABC . For a 3 chord progression you would play C,F,&G aka 1,4&5. Using these #'s you can choose any key and just play the 1st, 4th,& 5th chords . Slainte , Happy New Year! Sandy |
