05 Jan 05 - 02:34 PM (#1372250) Subject: W ABBEY FC - MON - THORN & ROSES From: Leraud This Monday, 10th January, we have THORN & ROSES at the Waltham Abbey Folk Club. They are Rowena Rawlings, Sylvia Fletcher and Jinks Jenkin. They sing a variety of material, both traditional and contemporary, in close harmony. They hail from Cornwall and are all good strong singers in their own right. We are very lucky to have them at the club and are looking forward to an excellent evening. The Waltham Abbey Folk Club meets every Monday at 8:30 p.m. at the Royal British Legion, Brooker Street, Waltham Abbey, Essex (J26 off the M25) We would be delighted to see you there and warmly welcome audience and performers alike. 06 Jan 05 - 11:55 AM (#1372814) Subject: RE: W ABBEY FC - MON - THORN & ROSES From: The Unicorn Man Oh no sorry, but very soon anyway. |
06 Jan 05 - 02:28 PM (#1372999) Subject: RE: W ABBEY FC - MON - THORN & ROSES From: breezy Why did you shout Lynne? |
06 Jan 05 - 05:09 PM (#1373170) Subject: RE: W ABBEY FC - MON - THORN & ROSES From: GUEST,harlowpoet That wasn't shouting Breezy. I think Lynne wanted to make the thread title stand out. Seeing the names, I remember seeing Sylvia and Rowena at the Wadebridge folk festival a couple of years back, and they were superb. Get your arses down folks. |
06 Jan 05 - 06:36 PM (#1373278) Subject: RE: W ABBEY FC - MON - THORN & ROSES From: breezy No its shouting. Great that Lynne has got these two stalwarts of Wadebridge to get away and see the rest of the world. we are looking forward to their warm up on Sunday at the Spotlight in St Albans at the the Legion in Verulam road. THIS IS SHOUTING No call for pouting Keep on touting for this west country outing. sorry but me boys are into rap and i cant help it if I talk like that but I'm really just a carefree chap so be on the watch out, it may be a trap and I was keen on jink's stack but he's not one that will look back with rum and shrub he'll pull em through and be a bass to that motley crew j |
06 Jan 05 - 06:43 PM (#1373292) Subject: RE: W ABBEY FC - MON - THORN & ROSES From: Lanfranc We hope to be there, Lynn. Don't worry if Breezy's on your (upper) case, just bear in mind that the convention hereabouts is not to use caps in thread titles. Ego te absolvo Alan (still partially armless) |
08 Jan 05 - 01:24 PM (#1374537) Subject: RE: W ABBEY FC - MON - THORN & ROSES From: Leraud Dear All I think there ought to be a Mudcat Rule Book, as I clearly don't know the rules. How was I supposed to know that using capital letters is against the law? Who says it's against the law? Life is minefield. It's so easy to unintentionally upset and offend. Please all try to bear in mind that I left school at 15, so have got no 0-levels and therefore may be a bit dim. I will try not to make a faux pas of such huge proportions in future. Is it possible to be banned from Mudcat? Oh dear ........ Lynne |
08 Jan 05 - 05:42 PM (#1374754) Subject: RE: W ABBEY FC - MON - THORN & ROSES From: eleanor c Lynne , avoiding taking O levels was a sure sign of being not dim at all. I think they destroyed the few brain cells I did have at 15. Especially the one where we had to look at diagrams of how a taxi meter worked and explain it. |
08 Jan 05 - 07:32 PM (#1374859) Subject: RE: W ABBEY FC - MON - THORN & ROSES From: Lanfranc Lynne I, for one, would veto your being banned from Mudcat, or anywhere else for that matter, especially for such a trivial faux pas! After all, I have left off your terminal "e" more often than I should, and you have never castigated me once. That my sister is an e-less Lynn doesn't help. Let he who is without stones cast the first sin! (?) See you Monday Alan |
08 Jan 05 - 07:44 PM (#1374871) Subject: RE: W ABBEY FC - MON - THORN & ROSES From: McGrath of Harlow Nothing wrong with shouting in its place. As here. |
08 Jan 05 - 08:56 PM (#1374898) Subject: RE: W ABBEY FC - MON - THORN & ROSES From: Hawker Make sure you go if you are near, this is a not to be missed trio, fantastic harmonies and excellent singing, Go show em how we do it in Cornwall guys! Have a great time Cheers, Lucy |
09 Jan 05 - 07:29 PM (#1375444) Subject: RE: W ABBEY FC - MON - THORN & ROSES From: Leraud Thank you all for your kind support! I've been to see Thorn and Roses at the Spotlight in St Albans tonight and they were excellent. If you weren't there, don't miss them tomorrow. Lynne |
