24 Feb 05 - 08:30 PM (#1420193) Subject: Review: Judy Cook on Tour From: Micca Just got back from a splendid evening at Maidenhead Folk Club where we heard Judy Cook at the beginning of her UK tour. What a wonderful evening of song! Well worth the Hour each way on the M25 even. And what do you get for this effort I hear you ask?? An eclectic mix of Songs Sung unaccompanied, but with great clarity and style, ranging from Variants and versions of Traditional Ballads and songs (I especially liked the Barbara Allen and Laredo variants. to more modern and humorous songs to suit all tastes. Her especially, the "Tamworth 2" song (I know its not what its called or even what its about but hear it and you will know what I mean) and the song about "waiting for the true Love to turn up" were very funny. I would say if you get a chance to Hear/see Judy do so, we very much enjoyed the evening, Many Thanks Judy, Micca |
