Yesterday a lovely book was launched by a great singer, pipe bag maker and all round great fella Jackie Boyce, sometimes seen posting here on Mudcat. Jackie's book is called "Songs of the County Down", and as the title might suggest, it's full of songs - and notes about them - of that very place. Some 'catters have already sneaked a look at the book during the Loughstock III gathering in Portaferry at the start of February. Well, now they - and the rest of yous - can get yourselves your very own copy. Suzanne - I still don't know if I can make the Eurogathering, but even if I can't I'll try and get a copy of the book there! karen k - I'm still awaiting my copy (these authors spend ages mulling over inscriptions!) but when it arrives, if Jackie is okay with it, I could list the titles. He might even list them himself if we ask him nicely! |
