It seems that the only country associated with this song, in the posts above, is Australia (apart from the "Dutch Girl / Dutch boy characters and "accent") and I'm wondering if I can unearth my late Dad's notes from helping assemble the first Australian 'Boy Scouts Songbook'. Apart from that, there is the knowledge that one great-great grandfather (Jan van Kampen) in my sketchy family tree was described as a "Sailor, Holland" on the 1854 wedding certificate.
