BS: Dunfermline Football Club

As you may know Rangers and I think Celtic and maybe some other teams in Scotland want Dunfermline to get rid of it's pitch because its plastic, according to them it causes accendents, I've never read or heard about 'accedents' there is another team in Scotland that has a plastic pitch and they are allowed to keep it because the other teams aren't complaining, and what about that English team they also have a plastic pitch and not one team that they played against complained.
So what is wrong with Dunfermline's pitch then, as far as I see it it's the same for every other team that plays against them and they don't complain do they.

I recall one of the Football Club Managers being interwiewed on TV when Astro turf was just being introduced . He was asked if he preferred Astro Turf or Grass and replied that he had never smoked Astro Turf .

But isn't the Pars' pitch very poor quality plastic?

I played on plastic for many a year .. no problem changed my trainers and tore my crutiate ligament in the first game wearing them. Dont blame the plastic blame the boots.

As they say in Scotland it is not bad weather ...just the wrong clothes!

I've noticed your balls tend to bounce higher on a plastic pitch!

I used to watch QPR (yes I am that person) when they had an Astroturf pitch and it seemed to work fine. Certainly a good Astroturf is better than a bad and poorly-maintained grass pitch.

Peace

I don't think there are any league teams in England now with platic pitches. IIRC they were banned about 10 or more years ago. It was to do with the bounce on these pitches and injuries, has guest Noddy ever tried a sliding tackle on astro turf and not left acres of skin behind, not to mention carpet burns etc. Major League Baseball, where astroturf was born (The Houston Astros indoor arena to be precise) have nearly all gone back to grass due to the injuries caused. Plastic is dead, long live grass!!
