BS: New Tory Leader-Who?

22 May 05 - 07:44 AM (#1490513)
Subject: BS: New Tory Leader-Who?
From: Mr Happy

After Michael Howard steps down from his present caretaker role as leader of the Conservative party in UK, they'll be after choosing a new contender.

Anyone have suggestions for the position?

I've a few of my own, there'll be a certain A. Bliar who's redundancy is in the pipeline, & with his vast experience in the area would be very well qualified.

Then we also need a figure who'll be sympathetic to our folk heritage & culture.

Michael Ancram springs to mind as one who's been seen playing acoustic guitar, and who could ever forget the magnificent rendition of the Welsh national anthem by John Redwood, an indescribable performance!

Any other suggestions?

If Tony Blair can't take it on - and he's by far the mosdt suitable - Boris Johnson would be the man. Or Ann Widdecombe would be the woman.

well personally speaking, I wouldn't mind the job. Im not actually a tory and I've never voted tory BUT I've been told blue is my colur - i look good in it. I had a blue suit once

AND I could think up some challenging things for them to do

AND I could think of places to lead a group of people like that

AND who would noticce the difference after the last three buggers

The last four leaders have been a witch, zombie, a dwarf and a vampire, so perhaps they'll keep on working through the Pratchett population. Will we get a troll, an elf or a golem next? More likely to be some emanation from the Dungeon Dimensions.

It will be a politician who ever. One thing we can be happy about: Michael Howard is not going to cast a shadow over any new incumbant!

It's a load of warlocks if you ask me.

Paul Burke: "The last four leaders have been a witch, zombie, a dwarf and a vampire"

AND AN INVISIBLE MAN! Excellent! Iain Duncan Smith was such a non-entity that you've forgoten him already. Says it all.

I nominate Andrew Lloyd Webber, Phil Collins, and Paul Daniels who all said that they would leave the country if Labour won the 1997 General Election. True to form; they all stayed - all politically expedient and with core Tory values i.e. self interested, self serving and pots of money to brag about.

Regards.

Who cares? It won't make any difference to anyone (except maybe those sufficiently up their own rectums to vote Conservative) because they'll still be unelectable. There is a God!

As we seem to be amused by this thread I thought I may as well expand on my earlier assertion;

Andrew Lloyd Webber would orchestrate the campaign.Phil Collins could sing the Theme Tune ("I(We)Missed Again",or "(Just Give Us) One More Night(Try) maybe) and Paul Daniels he could do "Not A Lot" with the lovely Debbie McGee giving the campaign its slogan "We are totally unelectable but look at the legs on her" this gets The SUN newspaper (LOL) behind them.So much better than Michael Howards' attempt at PR manipulation - I surprise myself sometimes.

Alba: with all due respect to your possible beliefs, I was referring to Pratchett- and there are bad witches as well as good. Yes, and I DID forget about what's-his-name.

Well, I'll be blessed!

When my uncle had this problem, he let all his chickens out of the chicken yard. They ran after and found a candidate in record time. Just was a matter of chicken catch a Tory,

You beat me to it. However, I think Cllr will have to get himself elected as an MP first. But he is a Pratchett fan.

Michael Ancram (IIRC he's a folkie who sings and plays guitar)?
