Winter Solstice Wishes

From:

To all of my friends, enemies, well-wishers and cursers on the Mudcat, I wish a pleasant passage through the Winter Solstice, however you may celebrate this time of year.

Two messages that carry through the 'Cat are peace to all and love for one's fellow humans. I do believe music can soothe "the savage breast" (I think that is the correct quote). May the music that soars quietly through the Mudcat and out minds as we discuss lyrics, tunes, origins of songs, politics, philosophy, and diverse ideas, soothe and enrich us all.

I would like to especially thank, Max, Susan, Dick and Joe who in their various ways keep this site rolling along. I have grown to feel very close to many people whom I have not yet met. May we all be blessed.

Roger in Baltimore

Happy Solstice to all, and to all a long night! (The ANZAC-ers will have to wait six months to collect.)

Here in the frozen north, the people light their homes in garish displays to drive the dark away. For me, the dark is driven away by folks like you, who keep me singing and knowing that there are plenty others like me for whom music says what cannot be expressed otherwise!

Blessings on the solstice and in the new year to come!

Solstice greetings to you all, I'm new to 'THe Cat' and already I'm hooked. Wishing a good, peaceful year to you all.

Thanks, Roger--I return that to you. I wish I knew a Solstice Carol to share; however, should any of you be passing through my way (SW Virginia--near the Tenn. border), send me an electric letter, and I'll buy you a frothy brew to help pass the frosty night.
