I'm in Tenby for a few days. Anybody know of any sessions etc in this neck of the woods?

Hi Trevor,

I've been to Pembrokeshire a few times but I'm afraid I've found very little music or singing. There used to be a club in Fishguard but I'm not sure if it still exists. It's not even close to Tenby, but good luck anyway.

If you do find some action I'm sure that Mudcatters would be interested to hear.

Cheers,

John

I don't know if the session is still happening in Haverfordwest on Thursdays (in the Fishguard Arms). There might be one in the Golden Lion, Newport (Pembs) as well but that's a bit of a jaunt from Tenby. The big music venue for the area is the Queens Hall (01834 861 212) in Narberth, which is also just a nice place for kicking around shops. SPAN (South Pembs. Arts Network) organizes stuff too (01834 869 323); I think they're running a singing workshop on the 26th, but I don't know more than that.

Trevor

If you do not mind driving a little way try this site

http://www.folkwales.org.uk/June05.html for a range of places

Also the The Half Penny Club at the Greyhound Old Walls on the Gower.

Bit of a drive but a good club. Say hello to Joy from me

Oh - and the Swansea Maritime Festival is this weekend, isn't it? There's a separate thread somewhere ...

Trev, if you're passing through Carmarthen, give me a ring: 07811 955592.
