I know that it was written by Dorothy fields and Jerome Kern. It premiered in 1936 in the film Swing Time and was sung by Asaire and Rogers. I also know the lyrics and the tune. I've done every configuration of websearch that I can tink of (inluding ASCAP and BMI). Does anyone have an old showtunes songbook or some sheet from which they could look up the copyright date and owner? That is the only information that I actually need so that a proper listing can be made on the CD which I just recorded with Sandy Andina and so that proper royalties can be paid. Stephen Lee |

It's listed by the Harry Fox Agency (search for the exact title A Fine Romance), and you can get a recording license at http://www.songfile.com/ - the process is fairly easy for small quantities - all you need is your trusty old credit card. Rich Lin, As for the fine points of who owns the copyright, I tend to send the money to the Fox office and let them sort it out. As for Riley and Maloney, they used to do a wondrful version of it.
