A lot of good songs and interesting and moving arrangements and one of the most enjoyable concerts I have seen in a long while. Ralph Stanley was in town last weekend and I left early. I enjoyed Ralph but the rest of the band was pretty much run of the mill bluegrass. Old Crow was top notch from start to finish. The final encore was a rendition of Dylan's Joey. The audience had a few wrinkled faces but many more of the younger generation but all seemed to appreciate this original band. |

I can't think of anyone who more exemplifies the energy of old-timey, or gives more of a sense of the true roots of what became bluegrass. At the same time, I get the distinct feeling that they aren't a regression. I have yet to hear anyone who's seen 'em come away with anything less than rave reviews. |
