BS: HELP--getting away to 'Getaway'

I'm doing some personal business in Wash.DC for a few days before Getaway. If I can get to Baltimore (train sta. or airport) on the morn. or early afternoon of 14 October, can someone give me a ride to Camp Ramblewood? PM me if you want. I could rent a car, but would like to save SOME money and the trouble of driving in unfamiliar terr.    Tw

Try PMing Charlie Baum, and BillD for starters. Fortunato might also be able to help. Charlie and Bill are always deeply involved in Getaway planning, and can give you a list of likely Mudcatter suspects who might be able to give you a ride. I'd help you out, but I've moved away from D.C. to Maine, and it wouldn't be on the way!
Good luck. Kathy

Put your request on the Geataway thread for a start.

I will be scouting around BWI airport for those in need of a ride about 4:15 that Friday, assuming the plane from California arrives timely. I'd be delighted to give you a lift. Can't guarantee the airline, but I do have maps down to the Getaway....

A,

Just to be exact, that should be UP to the Getaway ( it is north of BWI airport)

Don't want you headed in the wrong direction...

Where in the DC area will you be coming from?
I'm sure someone can give you a ride, perhaps even without needing to get yourself to the airport or train station.

we have a lot of locals who might give rides...and many of those driving in from afar pick up lonely travelers, also....these arrangements tend to be finalized in the last 2 weeks, as folks develop exact schedules and compare fight times...etc... We have a pretty good record of getting everyone located and transported..*smile*

Bless you, dears. I have business at L.of C. and Smithsonian. Then I was going to Baltimore to continue my trip to GETAWAY. Don't know DC, hope there's public transport from wherever my ho/motel is to these locations.    Tw

yup...public transport all over the place....and you can walk a lot of it if you are in shape. L.C. to Smithsonian is not bad at all. (and you might not even need to get to Baltimore for a ride, unless you have business there also)

LC to Smithsonian, depending on the building you are going to is a brisk 15 minute walk. If you want to spend the day wandering the Mall, and are in shape, you could walk most of it. The National Archives are there as well.
