Bank Holiday Monday 2005 (today) is the Chapeltown Folk Day at The Commercial, Station Road, Chapeltown, Sheffield. From 12 midday onwards I think. Song and music sessions if it's like the last time I went.

We'll be there, Mick. Tunes downstairs and singaround upstairs. Quality abuse all round!

Sorry - would have liked to know about this one! My Dad worked at Kent Panda (division of Izal) for ten years, seeing it change from Newton Chambers to being sold off by Sterling. I also worked two summers at the old Chemical Works, mostly on the blow moulding machines for Doby bottles...

What a sad life!

I had a lovely sing today. Looking forward to next year already.

Incidentally, my sister was the factory nurse at Newton Chambers many moons ago.

I can only endorse the last two posts. Good songs, good stories and good humour. The four hours I was there just flew by. Hope the rest of the day went well too.

Didn't make it on Monday but had a good drink there on Sat night. I don't suppose anyone saw my jumper ( blue and baggy) as I've lost it.
