14 Sep 05 - 03:01 PM (#1563697) Subject: RE: Folklore: Davey Graham and Martin Carthy gig From: The Borchester Echo low key events in Oxford Low key? The Holywell is a prestigious venue with acoustics to die for. Standout gigs I've been to there include the English Acoustic Collective with Maggie Boyle, the Oxford Waits and Alva and a Spiers & Boden fundraiser. Workshops there with Martin Simpson and the Witches of Elswick had the artists loving the venue so much they wanted to take it home with them. Well worth an hour's zoom on the Oxtube from London . . . |
