Anyone going to see the witches at Tudor 2nite?

2eyes and I have decided to escape the demolition dust of DIY and would be glad to see anyone up there. They're great and responsible for introducing us to the folk scene and people like Derrick a couple of years ago. Tickets available on door I was told last week.

Hope to make it back to Barton soon!

Keep up the good work Ross!

How much for a round of sandwiches? - no, your wrong - £20/then chips £6 - a portion

I wasn't hungry

If I survive I will see you at Barton on Wed. Going to see Joan Armatrading on Thursday, I hope she is in.

Hi Martin - many thanks for coming along - it was good

There were quite a lot of diners in the back room, so it was a bit crowded - Yvonne has a yearning for the back room also and champions its cause at every opportunity - I'm still not sure - I think the pub has a bit more atmosphere even though it's noisy sometimes

Many thanks to all Martin, Trevor Accord, Stevi, John P, Rick & mate, Trevor MK, Rita, Yvonne, Derrick, Davina, Geoff, world famous Bert, Cathy, Richard, Keith, Eve & friend - sorry if I've missed anyone

Stevi - you left 3 No. harmonicas - John P has them - I'll PM his e-mail address to you

Bert - can you post info about Aldernham on this thread - time, date, venue etc.

Won't be able to pop up to Barton for a while, but will try. It'll be easier now that you've swopped to the Wednesday as it's not a work-night for me, so the drive back won't be such a pig! Mind you, it's about 110 mile round trip for me, so 'popping up' is probably an understatement.

But if anyone's near St Albans on Friday 18th November, I'm doing an evening at the Comfort Hotel. It'd be great to see some friendly faces there!

Meanwhile, keep up the good work Ross!

I went to an open mic at Aldernham yesterday - very good - I really enjoyed it

Don't worry Guru - I think we understand why you don't pop back for the sessions - have you started one yet in your new locality

I'm not sure if I can get to St Albans friday week - I find towns on weekend nights a bit intimidating - I'm just a country boy

Cheers Martin - we'll try and enjoy wednesday without your friendly faces

Hello Martin, have you heard george's song 'Anytown'?

One can avoid St Albans town centre by coming up Holywell hill from the M10 and exiting the same way so noone will see you

I found a music book with dots in helpful places and can sort of play silent night already! Lots of time to practise before 25.12

No monks jokes Bertie

From: Ross

Good morning one and all

I've lost my plectrums and capo at present

So I've cut a plectrum out of an old credit card and my guitar neck is swathed in old elastic bands

But I still sound like a cat in a dustbin being hit by a mallet

Silent Night! - it took me twenty years to play that

Monk jokes - wasn't there one that ends with 'it's your turn in the barrel'

Thats thursday its your turn on tues,

Hi Ho I spy a silver capo.

A cut piece of beer mat could do the job of a plectrum its disposable, ive tryed using a beer mat with beer spilled over it, ive never played better, mainly that it did not make a sound, but the audiance stood up n clapped, they were glad I didnt make a sound.

my hairs falling out any advice from the doctor?

14 Nov 05 - 12:57 PM (#1604732)
Subject: RE: Barton, Beds - November 05 things
From: The Unicorn Man

Cut your head off. I have not had any complaints yet. The solution to your lost plectrums and capos is buy an accordion. Since I bought mine I have not had any problems. I should be stewarding on Saturday for Dick Gaughan, oh yeah and Jan Strapp and Big PG himself. COOOOL The only problem is I will miss Bungtingford. Still never mind.

Never mind Doctor - I'm sure you'll think of a cure

Perhaps a puncture outfit might be a good buy for an accordion?

Singing ref has started an e-mail reminder everyweek - if you PM him, I'm sure he'll add anyone to his list - the e-mail directs you to web sites and TV channels etc.

Dear Doctor - have you changed our thread into a dear deidre column

Hi Cathy - have you mastered polywollydoodle yet - dolly parton plays okay with all her nails

Novice nun gets pregnant after a year in the service - how can this be asks the mother superior - hasn't the priest been telling you about the evils of sin

Oh yes said the novice - he made me show my nether regions and called them the gates to heaven - then he lifted up his frock and showed me the key to open them

Well the little liar said the mother superior - he told me that was Gabriel's horn
