29 Nov 05 - 06:19 PM (#1616715) Subject: RE: Judy Collins Coming to UK From: Lanfranc No, nor yet to sisters Shirley and Dolly Collins or, for that matter to Phil Collins! Well, maybe, but far back in their family history. It's a bit like the Taylors (James and Livingstone were brothers, but Jeremy, Allan and Martin aren't) At least we keep this thread fresh! I'd love to see Judy Collins again. I haven't seen her for thirty years, though I have a handful of her albums. A very influential lady, for those who have not come across her - she was instrumental in furthering the careers of Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell, among others. I hope to be at the London gig. 07 Dec 05 - 06:58 PM (#1622274) Subject: RE: Judy Collins Coming to UK From: Murray MacLeod I saw her in Miami shortly after Sep 11, and she did a phenomenal version of "Give my regards to Broadway" that must have brought a tear to the eye if everybody in the audience. She is still a great performer, and foxy with it ... |
