I like to start these things at the begining and no folkies come immediately to mind.

Other types of artist though:
Alan Bennet
Carl Denver
Ella Fitzgerald

I think he was called Karl Denver, actually, but I may be wrong.
Other things being equal, it seems to me that one artist out of twenty-six should have this characteristic(assuming I have got the maths right) so there should be loads.
Vaughan Williams is my nomination. Also Bill Caddick.

Does consecutive backwards count? Because there are, by a strange coincidence, two folkies both called Chris Bartram.

Found another invert for C D:
Debra Cowan

I've never heard of her, but anyone connected to Richard Thompson is worth a look in my book.

My great-grandfather just about makes the cut--Arthur Bowen Davies. He was the president of the Armory Exposition in 1913--first exhibition of modern art in the US. His own stuff was popular at the time but his reputation took a big dive after his death. Had bought Picassos, Cezannes etc--but, of course, needed to finance his own work--so he sold them all in 1925--for prices like, say $200, $300 or so. Then, as I said, his own work turned out to not sell quite as well.

So we're all still working stiffs.

But them's the breaks.

But at least I can see some of his art in some museums. And he's in most encyclopedias.

it all started on a thread regarding a new folk club in Bishop's Castle where the 'mystery guest' has ben referred to as JK from the start.

It got me wondering and that fine Robbie started the thread for me

So now you all know...

Some really nice guitar playing.

And Eric, if you find that reading this thread wastes your precious time why do it? For my part I have enjoyed thinking through all the performers I know, being reminded of others by friends on the cat and finding new acts who interest me and who I shall look into.
