02 Dec 05 - 08:02 PM (#1618976) Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday Dec 2nd 05 From: Rasener Thanks GS Smashing variety again with good performances from everybody. I don't normally single any performers out, as it is a team effort, and from the first to the last they all did their part to entertain us. However a word about HarriWatts Band. I didn't know what to expect from them HarriWatts chaps, but they surpassed even my wildest dreams. Already talking about a spotlight guest slot for next year. Very nice mudcatters. Cough cough cough. Whilst the numbers were down a bit, I managed to break even. So a vey warm thanks to all those who made the effort to come tonight. Very much appreciated. The experiment with changing the room around, seemd to work quite well, with favourable comments from the performers and the audience alike. Ah well so to the Christmas Bash on December 16th. Tickets aren't necessary, so do turn up and support it. Cheers Les |

03 Dec 05 - 08:47 AM (#1619224) Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday Dec 2nd 05 From: Rasener Didn't they have to be on the Humber Bridge by midnight, otherwise they would be turned into gint welks. AS they didn't leave the club till gone midnight, I can only assume they are squelching their way along the bridge, trying to avoid Oaklet and his fishing net. Or has that there Zulu posting above captured them and got them in his big boiling pot. |

What is this, 'Humber Bridge'so many mention? Is it further than that Barton place?...I thought the world ended there... |
04 Dec 05 - 06:00 AM (#1619685) Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday Dec 2nd 05 From: Rockhen PS...I think I preferred the sideways layout of the club, Villan...Once I got over the initial, "feels like an interview" terror. I agree with your comments about removing the end tables near the door because you can always add them if there are enough people attending. Clubs like the MRFC have to continally evolve if they are not to become stale and we all have to try to support each other, whether performer or part of the regular audience. There is room for everyone with a little compromise, I think. Long live live music! |
04 Dec 05 - 01:26 PM (#1619857) Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday Dec 2nd 05 From: Rasener I had to pay them fuzz the bet. I really didn't think they would do it. All for a tenner!!!!!! 05 Dec 05 - 06:52 PM (#1620733) Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday Dec 2nd 05 From: Tim theTwangler I notice there is a disturbing tendency in some so called Folk Clubs for the audience to disport themselves in the so called modern way of veiwing the performers side ways on! For goodnes sake just because the Americans or the damned continentals do things wrong there is absolutely no need for the good old traditional English ways to be cast aside. What will be next? Will Les be greating us with a kiss on both cheeks and a plateful of garlic snails. Will we be barred from entry if we dont wear frilly shirts and a suntan? Will the traditional English whiskers become a thing of the past? For pities sake Les,Please think what you are throwing away. Oh yeah and Merry "Winter Holiday". YOURs Faithfully Etc Etc Etc. |
