Happy holidays to everyone, including Bill O'Really. I replay my holiday wish for peace throughout the world and an end to all suffering. I would forego any future presents if this could be made so.

Seasonal greetings to all from the floating hovel. If you are passing Uxbridge this Christmas please don't drop in because I won't be here. If you are passing at any other time please shout and a suitable libation will be prepared in your honour.

May you have Peace, Love, Light and Happiness, good beer, good company and a good chorus to join.

Blessed be

Last night David Letterman asked his audience is they were "into" celebrity birthdays. Of course, they all yelled "Yes!" He continued with "oh, great, there's one coming up this weekend!"

With Solsitce just past, even the regular light is returning. May Life, Light and Love see you and yours through another year and thanks for being here.

Blessed Be in Peace Profound,

Loneliness and isolation are particular issues at Christmas. The NHS says that, as Christmas is associated with friends and family, most of us will have lots of friends and family calling with us over the festive period, but it can be difficult for those on their own without a friend in the world for one reason or another.

Christmas can be a particularly lonely time for older people living alone or socially isolated. There are nearly 11 million people aged 65 and over in the UK and they are twice as likely to spend Christmas alone than younger people. WRVS say the loneliness felt on Christmas Day is often the worst.

So we should all make an effort to make their Christmas a little brighter!

To those who love Christmas, enjoy every moment and lots of love.

And for those who find Christmas a heartbreaking struggle to get through, a warm, long, loving hug, a huge amount of extra love, and remember, you're being thought about, so you're not alone.

PS: And to Joe and Max, a big kiss each, for all your hard work during the rest of the year. And a little kiss too, for your little Elves. xx

I believe the Chinese curse is to live in "interesting times", and today's climate is surely that, with uncertainty about the future looming large in so many peoples' lives.

I'd like to thank the Mudcat (and 'catters) for the love and support I have received during my "interesting times" of late, and express a wish that this support network may continue to do its largely unsung work in the future.

Here's a hope that we all have the best Christmas (or whatever you celebrate) possible, and that we may face 2009 with the determination to grab whatever is thrown at us by the throat!

Oh, Tink, that was wonderful!!

Joe, I LIKE that one, too!

I am waiting for the sweet roll dough to rise so I can make the Sswedish Tea Ring for tomorrow's breakfast. Finished the pies and cranberries about an hour ago. Morgan is so excited they are scraping him off the ceiling! We will go over tomorrow morning and watch him open presents as well as the rest of us open ours.

I have spoken with special friends, today, and will speak with more tomorrow. It is good for this ritual to come about when it has been so dark and cold.

Merry Christmas, my friends and thanks for being here!
