Christine Lavin wrote a song titled "The Sixth Floor" inspired by a visit to the museum in the Depository Building. But that song came out in the early/mid 1990's. MANY of the songs I found and put in those various threads were done by women. The first song about the assassination I ever heard was by a woman---Millicent Martin---on the British TV show THAT WAS THE WEEK THAT WAS-------only a day or two after the assassination. Art Thieme |

Dunno who wrote it, though. |

The Chad Mitchell Trio sings it in a medley with "Rally Round the Flag" on their album "Reflecting" (Mercury SR 60891/MG 20891). |

I don't know if 'summer of his years' is what the OP was thinking of but there have been a few women who have recorded 'Abraham, Martin and John" which mentions Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jr, John Kennedy and Bobby Kennedy but it was originally recorded By Dion (De Mucci of the Belmonts). |
