Breezy's golden girl

19 Mar 06 - 05:29 AM (#1697531)
Subject: Breezy's golden girl
From: George Papavgeris

I just saw in the Commonwealth Games results that Michaela Breeze, daughter of the well known busker, performer and folk club organiser John, won gold for Wales in her wightlifting category (63kg) earlier today, breaking the games record in the process with a combined lift (snatch/clean & jerk) of 220 kg.

I have met her and she is a lovely lass in every aspect, including her melodeon playing (which makes her a folkie, so this does not belong to the BS section). I've said it before, and will say it again - there's a woman that could sweep me off my feet!

Her record record equals the weight of me AND my family with lots of spare to carry the shopping home...

Bloody well done. There will be one proud Dad at St.Albans tomorrow. There was a time when folk music was associated with wimps by some. I guess those days have passed!

Great stuff. Bring her along Breezy when you come up to Market Rasen Folk Club and we will roll the mat out for her.

Shame it was for Wales and not for England :-) LOL

Of course, he'll be insufferable tonight. He'll "drag on", I bet! But I said I would be there, so I will not "welsh" on my promise.

Yep brought a tear to my eye, well done the Breezers!!

Now about the snatch! how many of you can squat down ~ feet flat on the floor and fix a broom/sweeping brush horizontally above your head, held in both hands?

Now try it! If you can you just might have the physical attributes needed by olympic style weight lifters.

Well done Michaela

Didn't she do well!

We had chocolate cake to celebrate at Snorbens last night.

Breezy said he couldn't understand why she didn't give a plug to the Spotlight Windward Folk Club in her interview as he'd asked her to!

:-)

Well done Michaela!! Strong Breezes, as we sailors say!

JB will be insufferable for a while, but why not?

Do the Welsh authorities know that her Dad flies the black flag of Cornwall on the jackstaff of his guitar? Does Michaela only lift for Wales because Cornwall isn't separately represented?

Working on a variant of "The Ratcatchers Beautiful Daughter" to commemorate the event.

arent catters really very loving people.

Just spoke to her, she only expects me to be at the airport at 5.30 in the bloody morning next Twosday to pick her up.

On yer bike gel, I dont get out of bed before 9 unless I have to take the other little beggers to school. catch a bus I said, flash the medal and you'll be charged double fare, this is Ingerland where success is to be frowned upon, we dont do winning fings, unless everyone can win cos it makes the rest of us all look like losers.

Seriously , thanks one and all for your warm words, and its so good to share it all with the mudcat community, bless you all

John

But Breezy
The Tv cameras are likely to be there, and just think, you could be on there as well as you busk away.
What an opportunity to collect a lot of money for your charity cause and promote folk music as well.
Go for it :-)

I had a better idea for when you come to MR

Bring Michaela along and you could do your gig with her holding you above her head whilst you play and sing. That would be a good publicity stunt :-) It would also gauarantee everybody in the audience could see you. :-)

Seriously
I have told the border guards of lincolnshire to unlock the gates for you on Friday October the 6th.

Well I was as pleased as a pup with 2 tails when I saw the Welsh flag go up between 2 Canadian ones and I didn't think it could get any better than that ... but it just did. Well done, that woman!

Now, if Breezy can just do some busking at Heathrow to welcome her home and get picked up for breaking the PEL rule we could have the high profile case we've been looking for!

(Hey - it's a plan. Kinda.)

How much do you pay, I can drive the tractor and trailor and tie down bales, or is it sheeves then into the barn.

Got 4 boys also available for work, even the wife maybe. I'll supervise, I'm good at that.

Will there be cider?

Breezy, no we don't pay,you know very well we're country dwellers therefore we're poor (Aahhhh), no you cant drive the tractor - I've experienced your driving and tractors are too expensive to repair, so are buildings, and small boys are kept for stuffing up chimneys. But we do have cider.
Yes you can come alone, and entertain us.

Hello Breezy the modelling's going well. Now I won't get out of bed for less than 60p a day. Oddly enough the next statue is going to a show in Melbourne very soon but I don't think they pay for me to go as well.

Me ,ma and da were Welsh, Cymraig, through and through.

we were, up til me, all welsh speakers, dad taught it too.

And she - their grand-daughter - opted to represent Wales.

Apart from the fact Wales have helped her more than the inglish ever could have.

She did her 4 years in Cardiff too but its taken an outstanding School in Devon to have the vision to promote sport in all ways that has enabled her to progress and she has already several British Chapions in her school. They qualify for England, at the moment

One is in Austria competing this week, look out for Helen Jewell, she is 17. now in her 4th year of competition .

Now if we can find a Welsh connection....
