29 Mar 06 - 10:20 AM (#1705635) Subject: RE: stolen fiddle email From: Scoville I get the fiddle picture. Man, I wish fiddles were more distinctive (mine's known for being/sounding ugly, but at least it stands out). I'd be pissed if somebody took it even though it sounds like an asthmatic mule. I never leave instruments in the car if I can help it, at least not without covering them up well with something (partly for safety and partly because it's so damned hot here that it would do bad things to them). |

29 Mar 06 - 01:34 PM (#1705783) Subject: RE: stolen fiddle email From: Leadfingers In 45 years of owning various instruments , I've only ever had two stolen - My first clarinet , which I had taken out of its case and put in the inside pocket of my overcoat with the view of heading to the Jazz Club when The NAAFI closed - some bastard stole my Overcoat on a cold snowy evening in Germany ! Then I had my ONLY C whistle lifted from the table in front of me when I was doing a six month gig three thousand miles from a decent music shop !! I my book , stealing instruments is worth than molestation !!! Bring Back The Birch !! |

The buggers want hangin', or at the very least a boiling water & Epsom salts enema People who steal instruments KNOW how we musos feel about our instruments - They are part of us! Worrying thing is it might be musos that have done the deed! I hope them responsible all rot in hell |

03 Apr 06 - 02:14 PM (#1709506) Subject: RE: stolen fiddle email From: GUEST,leeneia It may have been stolen by someone who now has no way to get rid of it. Why don't you put up posters on Market Street offering a reward for a "lost" fiddle, no questions asked? |
03 Apr 06 - 02:46 PM (#1709544) Subject: RE: stolen fiddle email From: Windsinger Vaila - UGH, good luck! Had my (admittedly old and shoddy) guit stolen by a pair of fraternity-brats in '98. :/ Fortunately the kids did such a sloppy job covering their tracks that it was recovered within 48 hours; either way, it was probably a lot more easily replaceable than your instrument. I hope your fiddle comes home soon. Slán, ~Fionn www.geocities.com/children_of_lir |
