Does anyone know somewhere in England where I could get hold of a hat like this? I think they're terrific!

Why don't you get one that looks like Barney the Dinosaur instead?

Have the nerve to go ALL the way!

I think that it would be an interesting addition to the derby-hatted banker set. Just picture the governors of the Bank of England wearing them....

Sure go get a hat like that ... by August every 12 year old kid will be wearing them and every drunken fool on a crowded beach will be adorned with one.

Would it be intrusive to ask WHY you would want a hat like that?

I couldn't get one. I got a black and white spotted stetson off Derby market instead. the yellow hat would have been perfect though. it would have really suited the song.

the thing is we don't choose what songs it occurs to us to write. and still less which ones of those we write, are going to be successful. and the ones I write, and the ones that people notice - well a hat like that sort of suits them.

otherwise I'd have chosen to be Paul Simon and write his songs. I don't think I would have chosen to be a great author like James Joyce - a lot of misery involved in that life - I'd have chosen to be Agatha Christie, and be very rich - though being a woman might have been difficult.
