Chord Req: Mission San Miguel

This is a Jane Bowers song that The Kingston Trio did back in the late 50's.

I pretty much remember the tune but I haven't figured out the chords and I haven't been able to locate them in any of the usual places.

Does anyone have Mission San Miguel written out with the chord notation?

Many Thanks in Advance,

-burton

Burton,

The song is also entitled "San Miguel". I am finding no chords to it. I'll keep looking.

For the record, here are the lyrics, from Kingston Trio Place:

SAN MIGUEL
Jane Bowers

Down by the mission San Miguel is a great house wherein dwell Don Carlos and La Dona Maria Elena Cantrell.

I work at the ranch. I saddle her mare. I ride with the gun behind as she visits her friends here and there.
She says, "Thank you, Manuel," or, "Manuel, por favor," or "Good ev'ning, Manuel,"
La Dona Maria Elena Cantrell.

I dream of the mission San Miguel and it says to me, the mission bell,
"She is married, Manuel, the wife of the rancher, Don Carlos Cantrell.

You serve at the ranch. You hold her chair. You carry her boxes, trunks, letters, and books here and there.
She says, "Thank you, Manuel," or, "Manuel, por favor," or "Good ev'ning, Manuel,"
La Dona Maria Elena Cantrell.

But I hear with my heart what she says with her eyes with, "Good ev'ning, Manuel," or "Manuel, por favor,"
Or, "The carriage, Manuel," or "Manuel, close the door."

Thanks for those lyrics Joe. Here is what I have come up with regarding the notation. But, I don't know if I'm in the right key.

Am          G       C    D         Am
Down by the mission San Miguel is a great house wherein
Am    D   Am         G Am               G   Am
Dwell Don Carlos and La Dona Maria Elena Cantrell.

Can't believe it's only been a half-hour since my request. :)

What group did a parady of The Kingston Trio ballad San Miguel?

That brings me back - a long way! Didn't see the original thread and haven't heard the song for many years - yet I can sing it as I read the lyric and instinctively insert a few small differences that come to me...

The Brothers Four did the parody. I have looked for it on Youtube but with no success.

"There was a spoof of the Kingston trio's song san miguel who ever did it the limeliters sang she called me a wetback and threatened to send me away who were they and where can you find the lyrics?
EDIT
Answer by        William Sadler         CONFIDENCE VOTES 5
this was probably the only
song on my mom & dad's vinyl i played as much as "wooly bully" and "the
pink panther theme".

Down by the Mission San Miguel
Is a great house wherein dwell
Don Carlos and La Dona Maria Elena Cantrell...
I work at the ranch, I hold her chair,
I carry her books, boxes, her galoshes, her overcoat, the garbage can...
She sa-a-a-ys,
"Hi there, Manuel.
"Got a match, por favor?"
Or "Don't drop anything.
"You'll get fired, ha ha."

I work at the ranch, I work without pay.
She calls me a wetback and threatens to send me away.
She sa-a-a-ys,
"Where's your passport, Manuel?
"You don't have one, do you?
Or "Manuel, brush your teeth
"Or stand the hell down wind."

But I read in her eyes, what her heart seems to say.
It sa-a-a-ys,
"Get lost, Manuel."

I don't like the ranch, I don't like the work.
I don't like Don Carlos, Maria or none of those jerks.
They sa-a-a-ay,
"To the stables, Manuel,
"And Manuel, hurry up.
"To the stables, Manuel.
"There is work piling up."

To add to the fray over this:
It is my understanding that Dave Guard actually wrote the spoof, much to the dismay of Jane Bowers, who wrote the original.

The spoof was recorded by the brothers Four as "summertime"."

I know nothing at all about this spoof/parody or the song it was based on. I can attest to nothing in this post except to say that's all I could find.
