Early finally records CD

Hi, At last I have managed to write enough songs to make a CD
All the tracks were written by me over the last fifteen years and previews are available on website

I would encourage anyone to take the time to record their own songs to CD it is such a lovely thing to do and it's nice to have a record of your songwriting output.
I say this regardless of the commercial value of the CD although many would argue that it is too easy to make a CD these days and would prefer some people didnt I say Cecil Sharp and others spent years gatrhering songs before they were lost forever the advent of the CD means modern songs of the people or contemporary folk music can be preserved and as always that which does not deserve to be saved for posterity will fade anyway

I agree with you about Cecil Sharp Early, I don't think it matters these days how bad people are if they make a CD, somebody somewhere will like it, and if it's no good then people don't have to buy it or even if they get it given they can chuck the thing away! I think it's great that more people can record now as you say to keep a record for the future, surely that is what folk music is all about. Musical diversity, only the good stuff will be remembered anyway.

my point exactly the reason I havent sent copies off for revue is partly to do with concentration on the few top artistes and the total lack of support for the regular folk club goers who perform that too often overlooked roll of providing the mainstay and audience of many clubs up and down the country

The Mudcat is a microcosm of that philosophy.
