I'm tired of all the same old shite. Does anyone have a substitute for it? Any ideas?

Try Colonblow! It'll help you get rid of that old shite so you can start storing up some nice new shite! It'll still be shite, but at least it won't be old.

Rumour has it that Shinola is very similar to shite. Problem is it's only available in those small cans while shite usually comes in much larger containers.

Shite is shite and always will be so,
There's nothing like shite as you well know.
Shite is everywhere all around,
Shite is magic...shite is sound.

Whilst you can smell shite you're still alive,
But on your deathbed you'll arrive.
No matter how much you may fight,
You may never more smell real shite.

So make the best of shite right now,
No matter where no matter how.
Live it, love it, with all your might,
Enjoy your life and all its shite.

If you're not into cursing, "crap' is a good four letter substitute for the 's word'.

If you want to fancy it up, you could say 'crapola' instead of plain old 'crap'.

I can't find the link now but the Metro (free newspaper on the Underground) had an item yesterday about a small transparent creature the size of a thumb that lives in the sea. Apparently this critter ingests carbon and poops it out in a form that is so heavy it sinks to the bottom really quickly and thus is not eaten. Animals that eat carbon rich poop/decaying matter in turn poop it out themselves and it eventually dissolves into the sea and thus the atmosphere. These creatures that are similar to plankton in lifestyle, have some sort of digestive system that traps the carbon in its turds so it doesn't dissolve back into the sea.

So really... if we want to stop global warming and the build up of carbon dioxide, there is no substitute for a particular sort of shite.

I did check the date but there is nothing to suggest it was an April Fool....

There's always:

shiitake
shitzu
Pschitt (a German cola)

or, to impress others with your linguistic erudition:
caca (Italian and Spanish)
merd (French)
drek (Yiddish?)
scheit (German - there's no "d" in it, is there?)

Anyone know how to say "shite" in Russian, Greek, Japanese, etc.?

And don't forget the ubitiquous:

"fair and balanced" Fox News

Genie, the German should be "scheisse".
The Greek one by the way is "skata".

But they're all piss-poor substitutes.

09 Jul 06 - 05:14 AM (#1779337)
Subject: RE: BS: A substitute for shite?
From: Genie

Of course the Greek is "skata," George. Duh. (I mean, I already knew Greek root of words such as "scatalogical," but I forgot.) Thanks for the memory refresher.

"Scheisse" is the noun, but isn't "scheit" the 3rd person singular present tense of the verb "to shit" in German?
If it isn't, I've been getting embarrassed unnecessarily when I make a slip of the tongue while singing "O Tannenbaum" and sing "... nein, auch im Winter wenn es scheidt" instead of "... wenn es schneit."

09 Jul 06 - 05:17 AM (#1779338)
Subject: RE: BS: A substitute for shite?

er, .. I meant to say " '... im Winter wenn es scheit,' instead or 'wenn es schneit.

Genie: it would be "scheisst", not "scheit".

And I never saw a cola named "Pschitt" - where did you get that?

Now since we are talking about it: could cola be the long-missed substiute?

Regards
Ernest

Good one, Peace. LOL

Ernest, glad to know it's "scheisst" not "scheit." Now I won't turn so red if -- when -- I make that slip of the tongue next time.

"Pschitt Cola" used to be advertised on big signs at televised international figure skating events. Only the signs usually just said "Pschitt." :D

And, yes, Ernest, some colas do taste like shite. ;-D

In my younger days polite conversation resulted in the need to go and 'do some business' when needing the toilet. Cut down to 'doing some biz' it soon became common to use 'biz' as a substitute for shite. Still makes me giggle when I hear managers telling their sales staff to get some biz in:-)

Well, small things...

Cheers
