I can hardly wait for our festival to be over in order to get on the plane to Newfoundland for their Festival. http://www.nlfolk.com/
Great line up with David Francey and hundreds of others. As well a special presentation to Ron Hynes ( Noted for around the globe for Sonny's Dream.)for his contributions to the arts.
Yes a little "Rock Music". Aug. 4th, 5th. and 6th. But the party begins on the (2nd.)second.

Wish I could go with you, Beer. Bring us back some new material for the archives at GEST Songs Of Newfoundland And Labrador, eh? :-)

Just back from the "Rock", Newfoundland that is. "Yes by!" as those wonderful people say. Ron Hynes was presented with a "Life Achievement Award" by the St. John's Folk Arts Council. Many musicians were up on stage and sang songs written by him. Ron then thanked everyone then sang a song yet to be released title "This House". I do not lie in saying that it brought tears to my eyes. If there are sentimental listeners out there get his most recent c/d if you like to cry in your beer/wine/smoke/lines/ or what ever.

Yeess bye!!! Missed this one earlier. Were you there for Regatta Day? 30,000 people with a smile? Did you do George Street? Tongues & Cheeeks? Get "Screeched In"? Jig's Dinner? Seal Flipper Pie? Partridgeberry jam? Cod OH Gratin? Chess's Fish & Chips? Even... Pizza Experts - I've eaten pizza from Nain, Labrador to Boston... best pizza ever was in St. John's, NF... mighta been the Screech. Or the Old Sam. Or the Black 'orse. Couldn't have been the London Dock!! Anyway, hope you enjoyed your trip to The Granite Planet.

Well Gnu, I arrived the day of the Regatta and it was a very wet day. They did get it in however. I did George Street a couple of times. I've been screeched in a couple of times before so I didn't take advantage this time. Was at Chess's for their scoff. starting to get expensive though.
Had a wonderful time. Got to start saving to go back.
