Hi,

There is a humorous, possibly American, song which starts,

'Mayonnaise have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord'

and there is a food item mentioned in every line. The tune is the same as that of 'Mine eyes have seen .. ' i.e. the Battle Hymn of the republic - anyone know the rest of it ?

Me too, I'd like to know that song.

How about:

Mine eyes have seen the slaughter and the coming of the lard,
We have hacked apart and rendered the old duroc in the yard,
We have used the sausage secrets from Grandma's recipe card,
While cracklings sizzle on.

Glory glory pork superior,
Sliced and ground is his interior
Bacon, roasts, and chops superior
While cracklings sizzle on.

I thought "The Mayonnaise" was the French National Anthem?
