A jobless man had to make frantic mobile phone calls to police to rescue him from the back of a US rubbish van which was about to start compressing. The unnamed man from Oak Park, Michigan, fell asleep while searching through a skip for bottles. He awoke when the skip was unloaded into a truck. He dialled 911 and told police he didn't know which truck he was in but was able to give the location of the skip he fell asleep in. police spokesman said: "If I was him I would go to church and play the lottery because today was his lucky day."
