New CD - at NTIF

Hey everyone,

I guess this is self promotion - but more like sharing with folks that can totally understand how fun this is.

Just got word that our new cd arrived, just in time to take it out to NTIF. This is our (Round the House, Tucson AZ) third cd. There are some clips on our web site roundthehouse.com and our myspace as well, if you want to hear some of it.

It is just a blast to have this done and ready to bring along. It isn't on cd baby or Amazon yet, but will be. The first radio play was last week and I will be sending it off to others this week. Thanks to those that sent me ideas for good stations to contact.

Hope to see some of you at NTIF or somewhere along the road.

Best,
Claire

Claire,

Nice enough, but no better/worse than a hundred other 'Irish' bands. I don't part with my money because you find it 'fun'.

Produce something that makes me prick up my ears and I will buy it.

Wow, that is just lovely

I would like to hear your newest cd Ed and see exactly what does prick up your ears.

But moving on, anything I say might sound defensive and that is just not how I feel today. I am sure when the full cd comes out, the reviewers will let us know what they think.

cheers to all,
Claire

We'll probably get a chance to visit at the hotel - if not at the festival. I'll be looking for y'all.

Hi Jed,
It will be great to see you.

And Ed, I am sorry I got snippy in my post. Of course, you are welcome to your opinion.

All the best,
Claire

I think Ed was the snippy one!

No worries, though. You'll sell a ton of 'em this weekend ... and frisbees???

Ed, who the hell are you, and who asked for your critical comment? You appear to me to be a no class individual with a giant case of jealousy about this band. If you were a musician/performer of any talent, you would have offered encouragement. I checked and no where did I see a request for your opinion in the form of a review. I went to the website, and noted that their first CD was featured on NPR, and voted best by Tucson area afondicio's. I believe I will trust their judgement, instead of yours.

Claire, I don't know you or your band, but I listened to the cuts and they seemed superb. Congratulations on the new CD, and I hope we cross paths at a festival one day. If we do, The Conklin Ceili Band would love to have you folks sit in with us. You are clearly excellent musicians. And I really enjoy the female singer (s)

All the best,

Mick Lane

Actually Claire, its not a case of Ed pricking up his ears but simply of him being a prick!

Good Luck....... a nice piece of work even if it was fun!

Hey, I'm on that CD too (fiddle)!
Thanks for the positive comments (Mick, Catspaw & Jed) -that's the kind of response people usually seem to offer when I check into the Mudcat Forum.

Wonder if Ed ever heard that saying that starts "If you don't have something nice to say....."?

Took the challenge and listened to the clips. Liked what I heard, hope you sell a lot of CD's at the festival.

Wait, wait, could it be? Why, yes it is! The mandolin player is Dave, renowned bandleader of the Carp Camp at Winfield each September. Guest Ed is in deeper water than he imagines.

I'm looking forward to seeing you guys this weekend.

Thanks you guys - I must say I feel a bit better. It was a bit jarring to get Ed's post right off the bat.

Mick, I am the singer - so thanks for the compliment. Phil- see you in Texas - and Jed too (anyone else?) There has been a change of schedule and we are on the Trinity stage at 1 pm on Sunday. Also on the harp and pub stage at 11 on Saturday and a clogging workshop at 1 pm Sat.

Plus we are playing the Trinity Hall and the Tipperary on Friday and Saturday nights.

Busy busy weekend.

Claire

I guess I have to refresh this one -- I'm on the final track! (one of many in the chorus ;-)

I caught half of the RTH Sunday set. Great music from some great folks ... I love the frisbee toss part of the act! New guitar player is a gem too, too.

There's also a photo of Jed and his band.

It was really fun - frisbees and all.

Jed was busier than us ... I think... but sounded great too. And thanks for the t-shirt!
