Shoulders flung, cape hits the ground, Sooz runs back to the keyboard for ONE LAST POST! Get on the scene! ~Jen (who was wondering why a choir would sing James Brown? *bg*) |

Subject: RE: Lyr Add: I FEEL GOOD (James Brown) From: Dicho (Frank Staplin) Date: 21 Sep 01 - 11:03 PM I FEEL GOOD James Brown Whoa-oa-oa! I feel good, I knew that I would, now I feel good, I knew that I would, now So good, so good, I got you Whoa! I feel nice, like sugar and spice I feel nice, like sugar and spice So nice, so nice, I got you When I hold you in my arms I know that I can't do no wrong And when I hold you in my arms My love won't do you no harm. And I feel nice, like sugar and spice I feel nice, like sugar and spice So nice, so nice, I got you. [SAX, two licks to bridge] When I hold you in my arms I know that I can't do no wrong And when I hold you in my arms My love can do me no harm. Whoa! I feel good, I knew that I would, now I feel good, I knew that I would So good, so good, 'cause I got you So good, etc. So good, etc. The simple form and structure, with constant repetition, is typical of most spirituals. This one doesn't seem to mention Jesus, chariots, chil'un or any of the usual themes, however. The use of the saxophone is novel; usually clapping hands and the occasional "o Lawd !" are sufficient. |
